Ruwwad Micro-Venture Fund (RMVF) is the first micro-equity fund established to support marginalised communities in Jordan, and is one of few in the broader Middle East. RMVF enables micro-entrepreneurs to translate their start-up ideas into profitable businesses that create employment opportunities and address local market needs. The Fund - through its equity partnership approach - not only shares investment risks with beneficiaries but reinvests any profits made into creating new micro-businesses. With sustainability as a core tenet, micro-businesses receive both financial and business support services that are crucial for success; including accountancy, legal support, assistance in marketing and mentoring services.

RMVF targets aspiring entrepreneurs across Jordan and supports them through each stage of the programme; starting from the early idea generation phase until the exit stage. Gender participation statistics are logged at each stage and the fund insures having a good ratio of women entrepreneurs in each governorate (30-50%) Our business model blends approaches from both venture capital and micro-lending; it focuses on the base of the pyramid in terms of target market, in common with micro-lending institutions but adopts an equity investment approach in common with venture capital funds.
